Terms of Service

Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the scormspecialist.co.uk website and services provided by LOST END FOUND LTD ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Services

We provide SCORM e-learning development services, including:

  • Custom SCORM course development
  • PowerPoint to SCORM conversion
  • SCORM consultation and troubleshooting
  • LMS integration support

Project Process

1. Initial Consultation

We offer a free 30-minute consultation to discuss your requirements. This consultation is provided without obligation.

2. Proposal and Quote

Following the consultation, we'll provide a detailed proposal with fixed pricing, project scope, timeline, and deliverables.

3. Project Commencement

Work begins once you accept our proposal and provide a deposit (typically 50% of the total project cost).

4. Development and Delivery

We'll develop your project according to the agreed timeline, providing regular updates and milestone reviews.

Payment Terms

  • A 50% deposit is required before work begins
  • The remaining 50% is due upon project completion and approval
  • Consultation services are billed hourly with payment due within 14 days
  • Late payments may incur interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate

Intellectual Property

Client-Owned Content

You retain all rights to content you provide (text, images, branding, etc.).

Developed Work

Upon full payment, you own the final SCORM course and all custom content created specifically for your project. We retain the right to use generic templates, code libraries, and methodologies in future projects.

Portfolio Use

We may showcase completed work in our portfolio unless you request confidentiality in writing.

Revisions and Support

  • Each project includes up to 2 rounds of revisions at milestone stages
  • Additional revisions may incur extra charges
  • 30 days of technical support and minor adjustments are included after delivery
  • Major changes after delivery will be quoted separately

Testing and Quality Assurance

We test all SCORM courses in common LMS platforms. However, we cannot guarantee compatibility with every LMS configuration. If you have a specific LMS, please inform us during the consultation.

Client Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide timely feedback and approvals
  • Supply accurate content and materials
  • Ensure you have rights to use all content provided
  • Provide LMS access for testing if required
  • Review and approve milestones within 7 days

Project Delays

We commit to meeting agreed deadlines. However, timelines may be extended if:

  • You request significant scope changes
  • You don't provide timely feedback or approvals
  • Required materials are delayed
  • Unforeseen technical issues arise

Cancellation Policy

By You

You may cancel at any time. Deposits are non-refundable. Work completed to date will be billed at our standard hourly rate.

By Us

We may cancel if you fail to provide required materials or payment. You'll receive work completed to date and a refund of unused deposit.

Warranties and Disclaimers

We warrant that:

  • Work will be performed with reasonable skill and care
  • SCORM packages will comply with SCORM 1.2 or 2004 specifications
  • We have the right to provide the services

We do not warrant that:

  • Courses will work in every LMS configuration
  • Services will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Courses will achieve specific learning outcomes (this depends on instructional design and content, which you approve)

Limitation of Liability

Our total liability for any claims arising from our services is limited to the total amount paid for the specific project. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages.

Confidentiality

We treat all project information as confidential. We will not disclose your information to third parties except as necessary to provide services or as required by law.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
